The nearest festival that will begin in this month is Dubai Comedy Festival, which is an 11-day comedy festival that will see some of the best comedians show in the world. The lineup are the famous comedians such as Maz Jobrani, Nemr, Eddie Griffin, Mina Liccione, Vir Das, Gad Elmaleh and Ali Al Sayed. The show will be on 12 – 22 May 2022 at Theater, Mall of the Emirates. There are many residences and hotels located near the Mall of the Emirates that are easy for both of those who would like to join in this event and people who are seeking the place near the shopping mall. Mall of the Emirate is the one that concluded in the biggest shopping mall in Dubai.
During 9 – 23 May, there are many events that are provided by government including World Utilities Congress on 9 May, International Society of the Substance Use Professional (ISSUP) on 12 May, Middle East Rail and The Roads and Traffic Expo ME on 17 May, and Abu Dhabi International Book Fair on 23 May. The Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is a sales extravaganza after school closes for the summer break. Due to the majority of the population of UAE is Muslims, there are public holidays in this month to support all the Muslims in UAE and also, all the Islamic in the world. This July there are 3 public holidays, which people can celebrate and recognize the important days.
The first day in this month is Arafat Day, which is the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage that many Muslims go on every year. The Hajj will begin to assemble and march in pilgrimage processions. The destination is Mecca, Islam’s holiest city. During this public holiday, the travel will be hectic, and many businesses will be closed. Arafat Day will be on 8 July 2022.
Eid Al Adha is the next important day to celebrate in the UAE and all over the Muslim world. According to the Public Holidays Global, Eid means “solemn festival”, it is not surprising that Eid Al Adha has a distinctly religiousness to it. The date of this festival is 9 – 11 July 2022. All the Muslims who can afford it during this situation will go on pilgrimage to Mecca. Others will sacrifice an animal in their home country, usually a cow but sometimes a camel, sheep, goat, or ram.
The last one is Islamic New Year, which is on 30 July 2022. It falls on the first day of the month Muharram and the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar. On this day it will be called “Al Hijra ”, which means flight, because of the flight from Mecca to Medina on this day. The Islamic New Year moves about 11 days per year because it is based on moon sightings. It will begin around 6 PM, it is also known that the Islamic day always starts after sunset. It’s time for remembrance of the past and it is not permitted to fight during Muharram.

Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022 on 17 November – 20 November 2022. It is a Formula One motor racing event, which started on 1 November 2009 at Hermann Tiike designed Yas Marina Circuit. The event was set every year until at least 2030. You can check the schedule on Yas Marina Circuit website.

1st December is the day that is important for the UAE due to it being a COMMEMORATION DAY or MARTYR’S DAY. Every year, everyone will celebrate to honour the brave nationals who have sacrificed their lives for the security and sovereignty of the country. This is a public holiday and they will silence for 1 minute at 11:30 am. On social media, everyone will use #UAEisproudofyou to engage all segments and events to express the appreciation and pride.
2nd – 3rd December is the most important public holiday, it is UAE National Day. As in history, since Britain exited in 1968, all the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain decided to unite. On 2 December 1971 the emirates announced their independence from Britain and became the United Arab Emirates (USE). In addition, their freedom from colonial rule without any violence. You can join the celebration at Global Village where the vast crowd to sing the national anthem, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa to dance and look over the LED show inspired by the UAE flag, and Burj Al Arab with a fireworks backdrop.
On 9th December, it will have Sole DXB, which is a music festival with live music, DJ sets, talks, workshops, film screenings and shopping. The line-up was set with a famous artist performing in the past such as Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Stormzy and Skepta. It will end on Saturday December 11. Any details are to follow for updating.
